If your Messages icon on Facebook is missing from the left-hand column, then you may have removed it accidentally. To get it back, you need to load a page with all of your account's installed Facebook apps and add it to your favorites. The Favorites section appears directly below your profile picture in the left-hand column on the account homepage. You can add other favorite apps to this section with the same method.
At the top right of any Facebook screen, click Account, then choose Edit Friends; if you already have a few Facebook friends, you also need to click Find Friends on the left side of the Friends screen. (Alternatively, you can click the two-headed Friend Requests icon that appears to the immediate right of the Facebook logo in the upper left of any screen, and then click the Find Your Friends link that appears.)

Alternatively, you can change the name of a Friend List by clicking the Account link at the top of any Facebook screen and then clicking Edit Friends. On the left side of the page that appears, click the name of the list you want to rename and then, at the top of the screen, click the Edit Name link and then follow step 4 above.
To delete a slew of friends from a list quickly: At the top left of any Facebook page, click the Account link and then click Edit Friends. On the left side of your Friends page, click the name of the list you want to thin. On the list page that appears, click the Add Multiple button. Then, in the dialog box that appears, scroll down to browse through all your pals, clicking each blue, checkmarked Facebook friend you want to delete from your list (the checkmark disappears after you click it to let you know that friend is off the list). When you finish, click the Save List button.
Sometimes it's just easier to say something rather than typing it up. To send a voice message, simply tap and hold the microphone to the left of the text field on your chat. Once you start a message, it'll send when you stop holding the microphone, but you can drag it away to delete it. Anyway, say what you're too lazy to type, and then lift your finger to automatically send to the chat.
Go to the Messenger home menu that displays all of your chats, and then click your photo displayed in the top left above the search bar. Scroll down to select emoji from the options. There, you'll be able to choose from different options besides the default yellow thumbs up.
Go to the Messenger home menu that displays all of your chats and click your photo displayed in the top left above the search bar. Scroll down to select Photos and Media. There, you'll be able to select emoji from the choices given besides the default yellow thumbs up.
Open a chat and select the More button (four dots) in the toolbar to the left of the text field. That will open two rows, with the bottom row containing applications you can open to easily share with the person in your chat. For instance, you can easily share music across Apple Music, news stories from the Wall Street Journal, and your favorite pins from Pinterest, along with a whole lot more.
Open a chat with a friend, then tap the More button (four dots) in the toolbar to the left of the text field, and select Payments. You can then toggle between pay or request to either send money or ask for money, respectively. Just enter the amount, add a note, and click next/request to send. You can also swipe left in this area to change the theme (to, like, a Christmas theme, for instance).
Open a chat and tap the More button (four dots) in the toolbar to the left of the text field. There, you should see a games option with a controller icon. Click it, and then you'll be able to select from the long list of available games. The person you're chatting with will automatically get a notification to join you, or you can just keep playing by yourself.
Open a chat with a friend, then tap the Camera button in the toolbar to the left of the text field, and swipe through the photos in your camera roll. Choose a photo, then long-press on it, and tap Edit. You'll see options at the bottom of the photo preview that let you add text or doodles.
Open a chat with a friend, then tap the Gallery button in the toolbar to the left of the text field, and swipe through the photos in your camera roll. Choose a photo and click the edit button. You'll see options in the photo preview that let you add text or doodles on the top right.
Open a chat and select the more option (four dots) to the left of the text field. There you'll see two rows of options, with the reminder marked by a bell in the top row. Click it, and you can select a name, time, and location for the reminder. Anyone in the chat with you will see the reminder.
Click the "i" icon in the top left of a chat. Then, select "Search in Conversation" from the menu and a text field will open up. Type what you want to search into the search field, click search, and you'll see any mention of it in the history of that specific chat.
Go to the Messenger home menu that displays all of your chats, and click your photo displayed in the top left above the search bar. This will open a menu - with the first option being to toggle the dark mode on or off for all of your chats.
Go to the Messenger home menu that displays all of your chats, and click your photo displayed in the top left above the search bar. Scroll down to select Data and Storage. There, you can toggle whether you want photos taken in the app saved to your device.
This one currently only works on Android. Open a photo in messenger by clicking the gallery button to open your camera roll, then click the edit button. A list of options will open on the upper right side of the screen. Select the magic wand-shaped icon at the bottom of the screen, and you can select from any of the available Snapchat-like filters that are available.
I have a Group offering clothing to individuals, it has become a scrolling nightmare to locate the clothes for our members. I have been asked many time if there was a way to organize in to sub categories/groups to make locating easier. Why is this not a feature allowed in a facebook group and it should be. Please consider making this possible. Thank you, Kandy
Yesterday, I lost everything on the right hand side of 5 of the 6 pages I administer. Everything from the description down.. the members, the most recent photos, the most recent posts. Any idea how to get these back. One of the pages was left OK.. Not sure what happened or how to fix it.
Chat heads weren't always an Android-only feature. When first unveiled, Facebook offered chat heads on iOS, but with a caveat. While chat heads work system-wide on Android, an iPhone user had to stay in the Facebook app for them to appear. This was likely due to restrictions from Apple, and in-app chat heads made no sense inside Messenger where all chats ended up. With those two thoughts in mind, we're unlikely to see chat heads make their way back to iOS anytime soon.
Enabling or disabling chat heads is simple on Android. First, tap the profile icon in the top left to open the Settings menu. Next, locate "Chat Heads," then tap the slider to either enable or disable the feature. If you have any chat heads currently open, they will disappear if you disable the option here.
There are also no Teams groups visible for me anymore, excluding ONE chat (random?). The teams app on my phone is still showing all chats and teams. I am also able to send messages in the chats and teams from my phone that are missing on the laptop.I checked FAQ's and recent posts for anything similar, but haven't found anything yet. Is anyone familiar with this issue and a possible fix?
After a reboot I am missing chat messages from 1st of July to today in a specific chat. After another reboot I do see those missing messages from 1st of July to yesterday, but now messages from 28th/29th of June are gone.. Very strange and a but disturbing, as we veavily rely on Teams in internal communication. Going to try a login/logoff and clearing the cache now.
